Our track record

Xchange Perspectives produced and supported the production of: 20 journalistic movies, 10 acted movies, 15 music videos, over 50 songs, 50 posters and other art works, over 70 dramas, radio dramas and puppetry shows, etc.

Xchange Perspectives built the capacity of over 100 youth, mainly in Sudan, in a broad range of media production skills, conflict transformation and peace building skills, journalistic skills, etc.

Xchange Perspectives supported several large-scale multi media campaigns in Sudan on diverse issues such as Measles, HIV/Aids, Gender Based Violence among others. In Germany and Austria, eight (8) advocacy and lobby events were organized to raise the awareness of people on development and peace challenges and possible solutions.

A tribe called peace - South Sudan

tl_files/media/Articles/Pictures/ATCP.jpg ‘A Tribe Called Peace’ sprang out of the need to find durable and peaceful solutions to the issue of tribalism in Southern Sudan. A 20-artist (approx. 10 male, 10 female) band (singers, musicians and dancers), representing many of the diverse tribes in Southern Sudan will tackle this issue in their productions, outlying non-violent sustainable solutions.

Kawangware informal media academy - Kenya

tl_files/media/Articles/Pictures/Kawangara.jpg Xchange Perspectives supports the establishment of an informal academy for graphic design, video production and photography in Kawangware, one of the biggest slums in Nairobi. The activities are geared towards building the youth’s and the least privileged people’s capacities from within Kawangware, by providing them with skills aiming at communicating the perspectives, problems and needs of their community.

Communications for unity - South Africa

tl_files/media/Articles/Pictures/Community.jpg Xchange Perspectives is to carry out the implementation of the Comm-Unity-Project in Hanover Park, Cape Town, a township whose members suffer from a range of psychosocial and economic problems. Hanover Park is one of the communities most plagued with direct, cultural and structural violence. The project aims to inspire young people to respect themselves as well as others and to explore alternative paths of and for peace.

Dilembu Au Gulmu - Burkina Faso

The music festival 'Dilembu Au Gulmu' (FESDIG) takes place annually in Tiantiaka, approx. 200 km east of the capital Ouagadougou. Although the festival aims at promoting traditional culture and creates sustainable income opportunities for the local people, it has however not received much national nor international attention.

Beneath the surface - hope and anger in the Niger Delta

Oil and conflict in the Niger Delta are strongly interconnected. The story takes us from 1999, the murder of Ken Saro-Wiwa and others, and the massacre of citizens in Odi in Bayesala, in which 2.500 civilians were killed and typifies the oppression in the region, to today. Nigeria’s oil reserves are at the heart of this conflict.
