20.02.2014

Xchange Perspectives (XcP) supported Weltfilme e.V. to implement the Juba Youth project in South Sudan. XcP and Weltfilme worked with five South Sudanese film-makers to produce fictional and documentary short films on issues affecting the youth and their way of living in South Sudan.

MUNICH - Since South Sudan became independent in 2011, the country faces its zero hour. Despite of the challenging local situation, it is particularly the young South Sudanese who are optimistic about leading their lives into a better future.

Within the framework of the project Juba Youth five South Sudanese film-makers present local adolescents and their way of living in fictional and documentary short films.

All film-makers of JUBA YOUTH won the Special Film-Maker Award at the XXVIII Black International Cinema Berlin 2013.

Juba Youth was realised by Weltfilme e.V in cooperation with XcP and with financial support from German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)
